Why watermark your supporting documents
ID cards, tax returns, pay slips: these documents get passed around a lot when you rent a home or apply for a loan. A watermark showing the recipient and the date makes them much harder to reuse for fraud.
Frequently asked questions
What is a watermark for?
To mark a document as confidential, a draft or a copy. For example, writing “Copy for rental application – Agency X” across your supporting documents makes them much harder to reuse fraudulently.
Does the document stay readable?
Yes: the watermark is semi-transparent. Adjust the opacity so it stays visible without getting in the way of reading.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. The watermark is added in your browser; your ID documents or pay slips never leave your device.
