Which level should I choose?
- Light: almost identical quality, moderate savings. For a document you’ll print.
- Recommended: a good balance for email or an online upload.
- Strong: as small as possible, for sites that cap uploads at 1 or 2 MB.
Frequently asked questions
Which PDFs compress best?
Scanned documents or files full of photos: the size often drops by more than 70%. A text PDF created by a word processor is already light and won’t shrink much.
Does the text stay selectable?
No: each page is turned into a lighter image. The document stays perfectly readable and printable, but the text can no longer be copied. Keep the original if you need it.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens in your browser, even for a confidential document.
